Keep Masks OPTIONAL NEVER REQUIRED in Hollis-Brookline Schools

Scroll down for supporting publications and articles, and don’t forget to sign the petition!

We continue to promote this petition in an ongoing effort to advocate on our children’s behalf. Our GOAL is to have OPTIONAL masking in ALL our schools. Let the parents decide what is best for their children! As we approach two years of pandemic living, there is still no solid, established, fully accepted data/science to support the effectiveness of masking against Covid-19. Protect our children from the mental, emotional, cognitive and social stresses of wearing a mask 6-8 hours a day. Let them breathe!

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!

With each passing day, there is still no science to back up the claims of mask effectiveness against Covid-19.

What we do know is …

There is NO STATUTORY LAW that mandates masks.

Frequent mask wearing :

  • Is a breeding ground for bacteria
  • Increases risk of CO2 poisoning
  • Reduces oxygen intake
  • Causes increased face touching which subsequently increases the spread of germs from touching of the mask and all other surfaces.

*Studies have been published that show children are at very low risk of spreading and contracting covid-19 from one another.

Given the lack of evidence for mask effectiveness, our children deserve to breathe fresh air which is vital for immune health.  In addition, masks impede our children’s mental, emotion, and social well being.

Please join us in signing this petition to ask Hollis -Brookline school board and Superintendent to Keep masks OPTIONAL AND NEVER REQUIRED in our public schools for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year! Let them be optional and the child’s choice to wear or not to wear. Our children deserve better! OUR CHILDREN OUR CHOICE!

WE APPLAUD AND STRONGLY SUPPORT THE DECISION OF THE HOLLIS BROOKLINE COOP SCHOOL BOARD!

On Wednesday evening, August 18, the Hollis Brookline COOP School Board voted to make masks OPTIONAL for grades 7-12. With approximately 50-60 attendees, the school board members listened to the overwhelmingly pro-optional masking public input. There was no doubt that the most compelling speeches were made by three wonderfully articulate students!!

Making masks optional for grades 7-12 passed by a vote of 4-3. SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL THE PARENTS AND CITIZENS WHO SUPPORTED US!
We needed you, and you showed up.

***

We are extremely disappointed with the decision to mandate masks for grades K-6, which the Hollis Public School board approved on Wednesday, August 11. For that reason —

WE ARE STRONGLY SUPPORTING AN EFFORT TO RESCIND THE DECISION TO MANDATE MASKS FOR CHILDREN K-6!

You can help us by signing a petition to rescind mask mandate for K-6 children here. Please join this effort!
